A Message from Our Principal

Welcome to Aurora Preparatory Academy

Jennifer Kennedy, Principal of Aurora Preparatory Academy

Jennifer Kennedy

Principal

As both a parent and an educator at APA, I bring a deeply personal and professional connection to the life of our school. With a child who has grown up here at APA, I have had the privilege of witnessing firsthand the dedication, passion, and care that our staff and faculty pour into each day.

“APA is more than a school. It is a place where children are supported, challenged, and celebrated.”

What Sets APA Apart

A Unique, Personalized Educational Experience

We recognize that not all students learn the same way. Our intimate environment allows teachers to better understand each student's learning style, strengths, and needs.

“Every student should have the opportunity to learn at a pace and in an environment that helps them thrive.”

Our History

Aurora Preparatory Academy, originally Foundations Private School, began in 1979 as a small, one-room schoolhouse where each child could learn at his or her own pace. From the beginning, the school valued a setting where diversity was recognized and celebrated.

Our Mission

Aurora Preparatory Academy provides an unparalleled educational experience for children from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8, offering an environment in which they are challenged, encouraged, and guided.

Our students are well-prepared for future studies and for life, set to become academically successful and socially responsible.

APA balances academic pursuits, athletic participation, artistic expression, and community service to provide a well-rounded, engaging, and comprehensive education.

Academics

Learning with Clear Structure

APA offers a balanced academic program, combining core classroom instruction with enrichment opportunities, skill development, and steady preparation for future studies.

Get in touch

We have a maximum of 16 students per class to ensure quality teacher-student time.

We aim to offer a variety of clubs that cater to arts, athletics, citizenship, and skill-based activities to allow our students opportunities to experience different things.

Our teachers are trained to assess students and make the necessary adjustments to their programming to help students maintain progress. Whether it is through enrichment activities or one-on-one support, our teachers will work with parents to provide what is necessary for their children to succeed.

Aurora Preparatory Academy serves students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8.

The best next step is to review the admissions information and then schedule a visit or trial day. This gives families a chance to experience the school environment, ask questions, and better understand whether Aurora Prep is the right fit for their child.

Families can request the admissions and tuition information directly through the website. We recommend reviewing this resource first, as it includes more detailed information about enrollment, tuition, and next steps that may answer many initial questions.
